Fire ready and Fuel Suppression
Summer continues to be a nervous time for many regional landholders. Living in the bush and on the land can bring so much enjoyment. It can also bring challenges when preparing for the fire season ahead.
Preparation and planning are always key. Its best to think about how to prepare for the fire season well in advance.
Fuel reduction mulching is becoming more popular in recent times. Whilst this isn’t a fail-safe method, more and more landholders are reducing the fuel load around assets such as sheds and houses in an effort to reduce the impact in the event of a fire.
The Environmental impact of works should always be considered. Native vegetation needs to be protected and a balanced approach is needed for habitat protection.
